How to Twitter

 

This page will make it easy to find out how to use Twitter and give you a program called QWITTER (spelled q w I t t e r), that allows screen readers to use Twitter.  You must first sign up for Twitter then sign up for Qwitter.  Then I hope you will follow me with my audio DEEP TWEETs.  twaud.io  is a service that allows you to send audio tweets.  Section 1 is a list of links you will need.  Section 2 has detailed info taken from the respective web sites.

Twitter is an insanely popular micro blogging service, that is a service which allows you to post short little chunks of no more than 140 characters of text to the web. These tweets, as they are called in twitter speak, are read by your followers, or the people who are following you.

When you sign up you will have to use reCAPTCHA as a security measure.  They do have an audio option you can use.

Qwitter is an accessible Twitter client designed for access by the blind. Qwitter auto detects your screen reader. After you have configured qwitter, it will download your tweets.  Go to this link to download Qwitter http://www.qwitter-client.net/download.php

Qwitter is a program created to make using the twitter system as easy and efficient as possible. There are many advantages to using Qwitter. Here are just a few.

 

Using a client allows for easy and fast response to new tweets.

 

Qwitter automatically alerts you when something new comes in, and wherever you are, you can use the various system wide shortcut keys to read your new updates.

 

You can limit what you see to certain types of tweets, such as replies, direct messages, and sent messages, along with your regular full messages list.

 

Qwitter is very easy and intuitive to use.

 

After you install Qwitter, it will bring up the configuration dialogue. You will need to enter your twitter username and password, and then there are some options to choose from.
